Educational History:

I graduated from high school in Atlanta, Georgia.

 

I graduated from Southwest Texas State University with degrees in elementary and special education.

Degrees and Certifications:

I am certified to teach general education 1st - 8th grades, and special education from early childhood to high school.

I am also certified to teach Agricultural Education through high school.

Current Position:

I am starting my fourth year teaching at Needville Elementary, and my 22nd year in the classroom! I am the 2nd grade special education teacher.

 

I also coach the Needville FFA Horse Judging team.

Previous Position:

I have taught in the following school districts and positions;

* Alief ISD - 3rd grade general education

* Richmond State School & Behavior Treatment Center - Director of Education & Admissions Director

* Katy ISD - Adaptive Behavior Unit ( kindergarten - 5th grade ) and 2nd grade general education

* Anahuac ISD - 4th grade general education, elementary Life Skills and 6th - 8th Special Education

While teaching 4th grade in Anahuac, I was named the Elementary Texas History Teacher of the Year by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. 

 

Family Information:

I have a daughter, Jordan, who is a sophomore at the high school in Needville.

We own and operate Acres Away Farm, where we have 4 horses, 6 dogs, 5 cats, and 15 chickens. Jordan shows horses in reining, versatility ranch horse, speed events and in-hand competition. My horse is named Redneck Snowbuck, but we call him Bentley. My daughter has trained him for rodeo speed events.

 

Jordan shows Cowboy, her aged gelding. She also has a six month old colt she is training for the show pen this summer.

 

Personal Information:

When I am not at school...I prefer to be at the beach or on a horse! Most of the time, I am hauling my daughter to a horse show or rodeo!
